Whether I'm working in watercolor, acrylic, pastel, or some other medium, I invite you to look over my shoulder as I force myself into my studio and battle the gremlin of self criticism.

Work in Progress: Hocking Hills
My latest painting... Now that I've put this aside for a few days, I see several things I want to change. So it is still a work in progress. It is loosely based on a very old, faded photograph from a vacation I took at Hocking Hills State Park many years ago.
I remember that vacation, and I think I may have some old photos similar to yours in my photo stash somewhere.
Perhaps it's my different perspective after living in Colorado for 18 years (can you believe it?), but I remember the area as much more green - more of a summer landscape than autumn. Still, autumn is my favorite time of year, so your artistic license is taking you right down my personal path! Yet another piece of your work that I really enjoy. I particularly like the way that you took reality "as it was" and turned it into your vision "as it could or should be."
